Sunday School begins September 15th at 9:30am

Welcome to a terrific year at St. Andrew’s Sunday School!

Dear Parents and Guardians:

There have been some changes made to our program.  These changes are a direct result of our ongoing parish-wide Mission and Planning process.   First, we have decided to re-imagine our leadership structure.  We will no longer have a Superintendent, but instead a teaching co-op model.  All teachers will participate in aspects of

leadership and decisions will be made collaboratively.  Mrs. Marianne Sanchez and Mr. Keith Adams will serve as Vestry Liaisons to the Sunday School, providing support and coordination as required.  Second, we will begin the Sunday School program at 9:30 a.m. by gathering in the Parish Hall.  Attendance will be taken and we will have a short program of activities and music. Both children and teachers will be given name tags and lanyards. Shortly before 10 a.m., our teachers will take their respective classes to their rooms.  We believe that this will promote better accountability and safety for your children, as well as enhancing the overall Sunday School experience.

The first day of  Sunday school will be September 15, 2013 at 9:30 am. Children and teachers will meet in the Parish Hall.  Shortly before 10 a.m. they will proceed to their classrooms. We will enter the service at the peace, and return to our families at  approximately 10:40 a.m. Parents, in case you have missed that all important

cup of coffee in the process of getting your children out the door, we have you covered.  Hot coffee and tea will be available in the kitchen from 9:30 a.m. on!  This is a great time to network with other parents.

Our Sunday school curriculum for Nursery through 6th grade continues to be  “Living the Good News”.  It is based on and follows the Revised Common Lectionary (our readings each Sunday) and is available online at www.livingthegoodnews.com

We are excited to announce a revival of the successful “Market Place” program.  This interactive program set in Biblical times, planned for late Spring 2014; it promises to be a great way to end our year!

Our Sunday School is always grateful for volunteers in our ministry.  We can never have too many.  If you are available to teach, chair a special event, or help in any way, please let us know.   We hope that you and your family have had a blessed and relaxing Summer!  See you at Sunday School!

In Christ,

Your Sunday School Team
