St. Andrew's Christian Education
The purpose of St.
Andrew’s Sunday School is to bring the children of the church
together to learn about Jesus and his life; to help them
understand the bible by bridging everyday events with biblical
events. We also want to encourage them to be the caring
individuals Jesus wants each of us to be.
The job of the Christian mentors is to
create a comfortable and secure setting which fosters a sense of
community among the children and allows the children to blossom

The Sunday school is implementing some new
changes regarding Sunday school start and end time this year.
The children will be with their families during the beginning of
the 10am service. Teachers will also be in the congregation. We
have decided to do this because it allows the children to be
with their families for the first part of the service. We will
then be dismissed right before the Homily (by the acolytes
coming down from the altar during the singing of the selected
hymn. As the acolytes go down the middle of the church towards
the back of the church, the children are to leave their pews and
follow behind them to be lead downstairs to Sunday school). They
will then come back up before the start of Communion. This is
all going to be done with the knowledge that there may be kinks
to work out as this new practice begins. We hope that this
change will work out better for everyone.
