St. Vincent Depaul

The Saint Vincent de Paul Society is a humanitarian effort sponsored by the Roman Catholic Church and locally organized by Sacred Heart Church on High Street in Mount Holly. It is lead by Laity and is not  limited to just Roman Catholics. Several local denominations participate in the worthwhile endeavors of the Society.

At Saint Andrew's, Irvane Spracklin coordinates our participation. We hold regular food collections which are then donated to the Society for their food bank caring for the poor and needy. The church school also participates by volunteering to sort and bag the food stuffs one Saturday a month.

Items of special need are published in our weekly Clarion and our monthly newsletter, Saint Andrew's Matters. To help our efforts just bring canned and dried goods, paper products, and other non-perishable items to the church on Sunday. Leave them in the Narthex and the Turner's will see that they are delivered to the Society.

Men's Club

The Men's Club is an organization of male congregants dedicated to raising money for the church and spreading fellowship. All male members of the congregation over the age of 16 and willing are invited to participate. No official enrollment or joining is necessary.

The primary activity of the club is the monthly breakfast held on the third Sunday of the month after the 8:00 a.m. service, from October through June. There are usually programs and speakers at the breakfasts. All members of the congregation (men, women and children) are invited to these breakfasts. The cost is $4.00 for adults and children under 12 are free.

The Men's Club has also conducted other fundraisers like food concessions at Mount Holly Day and the Mount Holly Antique Car Show.

The money raised is used to buy the vestments of the Acolytes and Choir, kitchen equipment and supplies, and special needs of the church.
