Dear Parents and Guardians:
The St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church Sunday school would like to welcome you to another great year! We have some changes that will start in September. We’ll be kicking things off this year with the Homecoming Celebration on Sunday, September 9th. After the 10am service, there will be a Carnival, DJ, and brunch. Sunday school will have a registration table available. Also, the Sunday school teachers will be commissioned during the 10 a.m. service.
- The first day of Sunday school will be September 16, 2012 at 10 am. Children and teachers will meet in the downstairs assigned classrooms at 10 am. We have decided to continue to meet in the Sunday school classrooms at 10 am. We will return at approximately 10:40 am at the peace. Come down and meet our new teachers.
- The Sunday school curriculum is now online at www.livingthegoodnews.com. Living the Good News is the curriculum for Nursery until 6th grade. All lessons, while age-appropriate, follow the Lectionary (the lessons being read in church each week). In addition to the terrific and in-depth Leader Guides, we have support material such as take-home sheets, and posters which is now all online. The curriculum, while providing a great deal of information and guidance, allows for each set of teachers to plan and choose activities to do each week.
- Parents are invited to chair and co-chair Sunday school events. Registration and Sign up sheets for parents will be available at Homecoming. At the top of each sign up sheet, there is a brief description of what each event entails. Please sign up for these events to help make these events possible and memorable for the children in Sunday school.
- Sunday school has also been asked to spearhead nursery care for the church. Beth Parker and Elizabeth Janney are coordinating Nursery Care during the 10am service.
We hope that you and your family are having a wonderful summer. Even though we don’t like to see summer come to an end, we can’t wait for the start of Sunday school! If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us at our new e-mail address: firstname.lastname@example.org. Thanks for your support.
Have a blessed year. See you in September!!!
