Building the Beloved Community: Undoing Racism – A two and a half day workshop
November 20 @ 6:00 pm – November 22 @ 4:00 pm
“Undoing Racism” a 2 ½-¬‐ day introductory workshop retreat, instructed by The Peoples Institute for Survival and Beyond, and assisted by members of the Diocesan Anti-¬‐Racism Commission/Team. The workshop’s systemic approach emphasizes understanding racism, learning from history, developing leadership, maintaining accountability to communities, undoing internalized racial oppression, and understanding the role of organizational gate keeping as a mechanism to perpetuate institutional racism.
When: November 20-¬22, 2014
The workshop is a residential retreat, beginning with dinner at 6:00 PM on Thursday followed by training until 9 PM. Instruction begins at 8:30 AM on Friday and Saturday and ends on Saturday at 4:00 PM.

Cost: Participants pay a $50 nonrefundable registration fee to reserve a place and offset tuition and workshop costs. (Non-¬‐members of the diocese pay $450.) Double occupancy hotel rooms shared with one other person are provided by the Anti-¬‐Racism Commission’s diocesan budget. Participants may choose to commute.
